Diabetes
Diabetes is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin.  So what is insulin?  Insulin is a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy needed for daily life.  In the United States, there are 7% of children and adults who have diabetes. 

The Franciscan Health System also offer diabetes services to the everyone.  They provide concentrated care for diabetes patients in an environment that enhances the learning process.  The health care professionals in this department are dedicated to helping people with diabetes become experts in their own care, make educated choices, and get the most from the treatment options they select.
